The Design and Build Process

We understand most people will only renovate or build a house once in their life, so the process can be a daunting one. At Paper Plans we are happy to guide you through the process, from helping you design your dream project, to getting the correct paperwork so you can be underway.

Step 1. Free Consultation

When you get in contact with us we will set up a free on-site consultation. This is our opportunity to find out your needs, budget and timeframe expectations. If you have hand drawings or inspiration, we'll take this on board and get started with concept sketches.

Step 2. First Drawings

Depending on your specific needs, our first deliverable will be 'concept sketches' which are drafts of your design digitally drawn to scale. These drawings will take council planning requirements into consideration, and can include 3D renders or elevations as required. 

We will seek your feedback on this early drawings, at which point revisions will be made until you are 100% confident to move forward. 

Step 3. Finalised Drawings

Now your design is confirmed we move ahead to drawing up technical drafts of your project. These are the plans to be used in your development application and to be provided to the engineer. They are also the plans used for your construction certificate.

We will liaise with the engineer on your behalf, and depending on the council requirements, we can arrange for any technical reports to be made.
